Why Test Your Water?

Municipal water supplies can contain chlorine, chloramines, and other treatment byproducts. Well water can have iron, sulfur, or bacteria. Water Hardness
Measures calcium and magnesium levels — the minerals responsible for scale buildup on fixtures, appliances, and pipes. DuPage County water is typically very hard.
Iron Content
High iron causes rust-colored stains on sinks, tubs, and laundry. We test for both dissolved (clear water) iron and particulate (red water) iron.
pH Level

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
TDS measures the total concentration of dissolved minerals in your water. High TDS can affect taste and indicate the need for additional filtration.
Chlorine & Chloramines
Municipal water is treated with chlorine or chloramines to kill bacteria. These chemicals can affect taste, odor, and may irritate skin and eyes.
Sulfur / Hydrogen Sulfide
If your water smells like rotten eggs, it likely contains hydrogen sulfide. We test for this and explain your treatment options.
